This is about as close to what Gove looked like when they first handed him to me as I can get. Gove has always been a photogenic child, even from birth! You laugh, but he looked much worse than these pictures can even show.
This picture shows his poor little cone head. Again, it is the best representation I could find. It looked very bad. Nolan thought there must be something wrong with him.
A couple of years after I had Gove, I read a book called A Girl Named Zippy. I laughed and laughed when in the opening pages of the book, Zippy describes the way she looked at birth through the eyes of her mother. In it she quotes her mother saying something like, "I'll love and protect her anyway." This is exactly how I felt about Gove when I first saw him!
Now for all of you people thinking about how mean I am, here is a picture of Gove going home from the hospital. He was already getting cute. He got cuter and cuter from that time on!
This is Max after he was born. We thought he was beautiful! (Really we did) We were expecting another boy that looked like Gove after birth, so to us he was gorgeous.
Poor little Max was spotted for a few days after birth. The doctor said he was allergic to the world and it would go away. It did, thank goodness.
So now you've seen the newborn pictures of my boys. Any chance baby boy #3 will be a beautiful newborn? We're not counting on it! However, we're sure he'll grow to be just as handsome as his big brothers.

Ok, now that I see the newborn pictures I think James will look more like Max. But really, how much can you tell from an image like that, right? Either way I'm sure he will be just as adorable and funny as your other two. Can't wait to meet him.
What beautiful boys you have. Good job Mom & Dad:)
You make me laugh! They do grow up irresistible though, don't they!
I was there when Gove was born and these are GOOD pictures of him;) But he was adorable just like a baby monkey is-ha, ha! I am so excited to hold the next little monkey! MOM
