This fall the boys and I decided to get domestic and bottle some peaches. We went out and bought a pressure canner and got to work blanching and peeling the peaches. Gove loved removing the slippery skin and Max loved playing. All-in-all, the process was not really difficult, but was very time consuming. If you factor in the time it took to cleaning the toothpaste off the family room rug and sofa that was spread in a moment of boredom by Gove and Max, it was very, very time consuming! Why, why, why is all of that underlined and how did I get it to stop! This is why I never blog!
Gove removing the blanched peaches from their cold water, removing the peel and putting them in a big bowl. Max splashing in the water and throwing peaches.
Pitted and peeled peaches.
The peaches before their very hot, hot bath.
The finished product!
