Our First Babies

Back in the day, before we had children, Nolan and I had animals. I know, wierd. I still think back on it and wonder how on earth I allowed and even enjoyed a cat and a dog. Now, lets be clear, I only touched them to shave them. I was allergic to both of them, so keeping them hairless was the only was I could possible endure having them in my home. That's right, I had a cat that I shaved. Bald. Well, she had some hair on her head and a little fluff of hair on her tail. She was very pretty and the greatest cat ever, her name was Tiara. The dog was not pretty, she was ugly. We named her Fea, but she was a sweet dog. Anyway, like I said I did not touch them unless necessary. They got all of their affection from Nolan. He loved them. The cat especially. When my allergies exploded during my pregnancy with Gove, I finally had to find her a new home. It was either her or me. Nolan was very sad. Sometimes we still miss her. My kids would love to have a cat, but that will never be. They will be very unhappy to know that we once had a cat. They would have loved her baldness. After Gove was born, the dog was too tiny and scared for me to trust her around him and she went to a new home as well. The boys will be horrified to know that we once had a dog. They are deathly afraid of all dogs. Anyway, Nolan recently found these pictures that prove I am telling the truth.

Sweet little Fea. She actually looks a little cute in this picture.

Bald, angry Tiara. I miss her loud purr and her funny colored skin. I do not miss allowing an animal to poop and pee in a box in my house. Preparation for motherhood?

Nolan and his animals. They loved him.

Meet their replacement - Gove. He's my favorite animal of all.

Aw, I miss T T. I remember she was quite the sassy cat : ) So is this a hint that we shouldn't buy your boys a couple cats and dogs for Christmas this year ?

I have the perfect 14 year old dog for the kids and she even has a cat name. They aren't even afraid of her. Someday though really you will end up with a dog that you aren't very allergic to- like a poofy poodle:)

You were brave, being allergic and all. We haven't had any pets yet. Your boys are definitely worth the lack thereof.
