This spring we did something completely crazy - enrolled Gove and Max in soccer. They were each on different teams and had a game once a week for 9 weeks. They also had practice once weekly (on different days at different places of course). Did I mention that I was 9 months pregnant, had a naughty 2 year old and a husband working a weekend swing shift? Yeah, completely crazy!

This is Max watching the ball. This is about how Max looked during all of his games. The boy is built to be athletic, but has absolutely no interest at all in competitive sports at this time in his life. He's young though. We would sit on the sidelines and yell and cheer for him, but that really only encouraged him to come over to the side we were sitting at and talk to us while batting the corner flags. No amount of encouragement could get him to stay in the game. He liked the juice and snacks at the end though.

Here's Gove. Gove is tenacious and a hard worker. He tried very hard and did his best every time he was out on the field. He has a competitive spirit, but was the smallest and slowest guy on the team. He made great improvements during the course of 9 weeks and loved every moment. If Gove tries hard enough, he can do anything! We would laugh and laugh after the games because we would tell him how great he did and he would just give a straight-faced reply of, "I'm not that good. It's still fun though." That Gove, he's frank!
