Lesson Learned

My little friend Gove decided one day that he would take scissors and cut our cute baby's hair. I walked in and caught him before he did major damaged, but still I was mad. Gove is the kind of guy who isn't phased by punishment, so we really had to come up with something good to make sure he would never play barber again. When it came time to cut his hair,we decided he would get a mohawk. He used to like mohawks, but does not at all anymore. To make it worse, we left a nice two-inch tail in the back. He hated it! We reiterated that James had to wear his bad haircut and that we did not like the way it looked either. He chose to cut James' hair and his consequence was that he would not get to choose his own hair style. He cried. We told him he needed to make good choices for a day, that he would be wearing his mohawk and tail to school and then if he chose well we would shave the mohawk and tail the following evening. He was still very unhappy. Too bad. He wore his mohawk to school the next day and was fine. He spent the day being good and that evening he was given a buzz. We left the tail for a few minutes and tied a bow in his hair just to mess with him. Oh yeah, we rock. Don't you wish we were your parents?

Super Happy about the mohawk.

It goes all the way back and ends in a nice pretty tail.

Can you say, "I pitty the fool?"

Pretty, pretty bow. He had no idea I was tieing a bow in his hair. He thought I was cutting it off!

I LOVE it! Kiley cut her own hair. She is almost 7 so this is definately not okay. She got it right in the front on the side so the next morning I did her hair and curled the part she cut. She was so mad. She tried to tuck it behind her ear but it wouldn't work. I laughed so hard and hopefully she learned her lesson too

Is it weird that I am hoping Ricky cuts Dallin's hair now?

I am suddenly feeling significantly better about my awesome parenting moment in Target yesterday. And you were worried about the man in front of you scolding his child at the dedication?! I'm surprised they let you in! :)
